PCN FAQ
A PCN is issued when a vehicle is parked in breach of the terms and conditions clearly displayed on signage within a private car park managed by ANPRODATA. It is not a criminal fine — it’s a contractual charge under civil law.
For more details, see our About PCN’s page
You may have received a PCN for reasons such as:
Parking without a permit or ticket
Parking outside of marked bays
Parking in a restricted, disabled, or electric bay without authorisation
Overstaying the permitted time limit
Failing to make payment where required
All PCNs are supported by photographic or ANPR evidence.
You can pay quickly and securely in three ways:
- Online: via our Pay a PCN portal
By Phone: call our automated payment line on 0330 008 0454
By Post: send a cheque payable to ANPRODATA, with your PCN reference and vehicle registration on the back, to PO Box 7,191, Coventry, CV6 9SZ
If you believe your PCN was issued incorrectly, you can appeal:
Online: via our Submit an Appeal portal
By Post: send your appeal to PO Box 7,191, Coventry, CV6 9SZ, including your PCN number, vehicle registration, and any supporting evidence.
All appeals are reviewed fairly and individually, in line with the IPC Code of Practice. If rejected, you can escalate to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS).
Yes.
If you submitted your appeal online, you will receive a confirmation email once it has been received.
Our team will review it and respond within the standard timeframe stated in your acknowledgement (usually within 28 days).
If you submitted your appeal by post, please allow additional time for postal delivery and processing.
We will contact you directly using the details you provided once a decision has been made.
Please do not submit multiple appeals for the same PCN, as this may delay the review process.
If the appeal option is not available on the portal, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
The appeal window has expired (usually 28 days from the issue date).
A decision has already been made for your PCN.
The case has progressed to the debt recovery stage.
There is a temporary issue with the online system.
If you believe none of the above applies, please contact our support team at info@anprodata.co.uk or write to PO Box 7,191, Coventry, CV6 9SZ with your PCN number and vehicle registration so we can investigate.
If no payment or appeal is received within the stated period:
The discounted rate will expire
The full charge will become payable
The case may be passed to debt recovery, and additional costs may apply
To avoid escalation, please respond within the timeframe on your PCN.
If you’ve received a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) but no longer own the vehicle, please contact us as soon as possible with proof of sale or transfer of ownership.
Acceptable evidence includes:
A copy of the DVLA confirmation letter
A dated receipt or invoice of sale
A letter from the dealership confirming the date of transfer
Once verified, we’ll update our records and, if appropriate, close the case or reassign it to the correct registered keeper.
You can upload your documentation through our PCN Enquiries form or email it to info@anprodata.co.uk.
Under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, if the driver is not identified, liability may transfer to the registered keeper (the person recorded with the DVLA).
All data is obtained lawfully under the appropriate regulations.
If your appeal to ANPRODATA has been rejected, you have the right to refer your case to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS).
This service is fully independent and impartial, and it reviews all evidence from both parties before making a decision.
To submit your IAS appeal:
Visit the IAS website using the link provided in your appeal rejection letter or email.
Follow the instructions carefully and submit your appeal within the specified timeframe.
Please note that once the IAS decision is made, it is final and binding on the operator.
Learn more about the process in our How to Pay or Appeal a PCN guide.
If your enquiry is not about appealing a PCN but relates to customer service, you can raise a complaint via our Complaints Policy.
Your personal data is processed securely and lawfully under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
